For the love of death....
It's not often you hear someone pouring their heart and soul out with excitement or love in regards to the bitter sweet subject of death. Death is often thought of as dark, morbid and quite unhealthy to even talk about. It's not. To educate those behind closed doors or those that just choose not to think about death is my desired notion. To reach out and allow people to embrace their mortal selves and accept that death is a very healthy part of anyone's life. Their Mum, Dad and cat will eventually, someday become a corpse. Their lips will become blue due to lack of oxygen, their skin will become grey and quite cold due to lack of blood flow, they'll secrete bodily fluids from below orifaces, obviously beyond their control and they'll become quite stiff due to the bodies skeletal muscles contracting and being unable to relax on their own anymore, resulting in the deathly phenomenon, known as rigor mortis. I'd probably call myself "morbid" if I were an outsider of my own mind, but to me death is the beginning. My fascination with death become quite early in my life, not creepily, please don't assume that. I'm a very spiritual person and the thought of being in the presence of a human that once housed a soul allows me to want to be more careful in caring for that "once" soul's home. Respect and dignity as well as confidentiality play a huge role in my dedication to my desired life long professional career. My desire as a Mortuary Technician in progress is to use these blogs as a way to reach out, educate, and be just openly morbid :). Anything and everything relating to death will be posted. I hope you enjoy my journey as much as i'll enjoy sharing it. Until next time, stay alive *smile*.
Your Mortuary Technician in progress, L x.
